Main activities / programme of the Workshop:
"BATS BETWEEN MYTH AND TRUTH" is a 7 days workshop joining people interested to act for preserving biodiversity. The workshop place the BAT in the centre of the attention due to its importance in maintaining the ecological balance in nature. Pointing out that his only natural enemy is the MAN, the workshop changes the wrong perception about bats, which was weaved by movies, and horror stories. The workshop is an assembly of theoretical and practical activities, carried out in nature, at the Centre for research and protection of bats from Rarau, in the nearby of the Bats Cave - a scientific protected area. Even if the topic of the workshop looks to be of a narrow addressability, it could be a workshop for every nature lover who wants to enlarge his skyline. Based on non formal educational methods, accessible language, the workshop programme includes topics like habitats, way of life, feeding behaviour, and specific features of bats.
We review some titles:
"Bats- co-habitants unique in their way"
"Bats- very social air acrobats",
"A small animal with a huge appetite"; "Hibernation- an economical way of life";
"A high–tech echolocation system"
"What's the world without Bats?"

Practical activities: exploring the Bat Cave, detecting bats echolocation system with special detectors, physical measurements on bats, building bat homes.
